Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Community Relations Representative I to serve as a liaison between the school, the community, parents, and students. The role aims to improve school relations, attendance, and student performance related to truancy and community issues.

The position involves building partnerships with local organizations, identifying community resources, and supporting outreach programs under the supervision of the school principal.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2-year college coursework required.
• Good knowledge of community organizations and social service agencies in the school community.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with community organizations and agencies.
• Strong interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support schools and community relations; identify resources and services.
• Work with students and families to address truancy and related issues.
• Develop a network of community organizations and sponsors for services in the service area.
• Assist in preparing periodic activity reports for supervisory staff.
• Meet with community groups to obtain information and share resources for students and families.
• Provide public speaking and communication support to organize outreach programs.
