Job summary

Madison County Schools Food Service Department in Richmond, Kentucky, seeks an Assistant Cafeteria Manager for B. Michael Caudill Middle School. This 7-hour per day contract role includes health benefits and starts August 10, 2026.

You will oversee food prep, ensure sanitation, supervise staff, maintain records, and support special events to provide nutritious meals for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as required by Kentucky law.
• One year experience cooking and baking food in large quantities.
• Must complete training course for certification of beginning school food personnel.
• Position involves contract, 7 hours per day, 180 days per year with health benefits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake rolls, biscuits, breads, cakes, cookies and other baked goods; prepare and combine necessary ingredients.
• Prepare and cook meat dishes, vegetables and other main dishes; prepare salads, sandwiches, fruit, soups, sauces and other foods.
• Monitor temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitor water temperatures to assure proper sanitizing.
• Serve food according to guidelines and replenish serving containers; handle money and make correct change.
• Maintain cleanliness; operate and maintain standard kitchen equipment; train and direct others.
