ESC of Central Ohio is seeking a part-time Food Service – Assistant Cook to help prepare and serve school meals in a safe, sanitary manner. The role supports compliance with USDA guidelines, local health regulations, and district policies.

Reports to the Director of Nutrition and Food Services. The position requires lifting up to 40 pounds, working mornings, and cooperation with students and staff. Background checks are required, and Serv Safe/PIC training is preferred.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Successful background check (BCI/FBI) per ORC 3319.39.
• Demonstrated ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks in food service.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and the public.
• Serv Safe/PIC training is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the preparation and service of meals per district menus and USDA guidelines.
• Maintain sanitation standards per local health department requirements.
• Operate food service equipment and point-of-sale systems.
• Handle funds in accordance with Treasurer procedures and internal controls.
• Support compliance with free and reduced meal program procedures.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene per food service regulations.
• Support the district cafeteria environment and student experience.
• Complete all tasks using district technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the position.
