Job summary

Washington County Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Assistant at Williamsport High School (Williamsport Base Kitchen). The position follows the ESP Salary Scale, Grade 4, at $17.18–$31.07 per hour, with 5.75 hours per day on a 10-month work year (8:15 am – 2:30 pm, 30 min.

break). Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, cleaning, inventory signals to the Site Supervisor, and operating the cash register.

Qualifications

• Ability to work cooperatively, accept direction, and show leadership.
• Serv-Safe certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Willingness to be assigned at any site within the base operation.
• Regular attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or assist in preparing food as assigned.
• Complete clean-up and dishwashing duties as assigned.
• Report food supply needs to the Site Supervisor.
• Serve food to students and adults using portion control standards.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with any phase of kitchen operations.
• Operate a computerized cash register system.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures.
