Job summary

The Stow‑Munroe Falls City School District Board of Education is seeking a cafeteria staff member to prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitary kitchen practices, and support quality food service delivery in our school facilities.

Ideal candidates will meet health requirements, hold a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrate self‑direction, diplomacy, and adherence to district policies. Ability to follow recipes and safety regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test).
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Complies with drug‑free workplace rules and all board policies.
• Self‑directed, congenial disposition, and strong diplomacy skills.
• Ability to prepare standardized recipes using commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to comply with nutrition, health, and safety laws/regulations.
• Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and adjust recipe ingredients.
• Ability to physically manage bulk products.

Responsibilities

• Checks/confirms assignments. Carefully follows directions.
• Takes the initiative to perform routine tasks independently.
• Upholds board policies and follows administrative guidelines/procedures.
• Promotes effective communications and reliable service.
• Uses problem‑solving techniques to address questions/concerns.
• Assists with receipt of deliveries and follows food safety procedures.
• Prepares/cooks food as directed per district specifications and regulations.
• Sets up serving lines and serves customers.
• Operates the cash register as directed and monitors student behavior.
• Cleans/sanitizes work surfaces, equipment, and lines.
