Job summary

Delphi Community School Corporation is hiring a Cafeteria Cook, Server, Prep / 8Hours at Delphi Community High School to prepare and serve meals. You will help maintain kitchen safety and cleanliness and support serving, cashiering, and daily cleanup through the shift.

The role emphasizes teamwork with the Cafeteria Manager and Building Principal, requires experience with food preparation and the ability to interact with students, parents, and the local community, and offers responsibilities

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation.
• Ability to work with students, parents, and the community.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Assists in checking food shipments into the school.
• Assists in determining serving sizes to meet age and state requirements.
• Assists in preparing and serving food according to a planned menu and tested recipes.
• Assists in serving students and staff when time permits.
• Assists in daily cleaning of kitchen equipment and washing/sterilizing dishes.
• Removes used dishes and helps clean counters, tables, carts, and dining/serving areas.
• Maintains a clean and organized cooler, freezer, and storeroom.
• Serves and collects payment for breakfasts, lunches, and ala carte items.
• Dishwasher role: maintain trash area and operate dishwashing machine.
• Report injuries or hazardous situations to supervisor with forms.
• Comply with school rules and relevant laws related to duties.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Food Service Director/Building Principal.
