Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a food service worker to prepare and serve meals, maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. The role involves cooking, serving, stocking, and preserving a positive cafeteria environment for students and staff.

The position requires basic math, customer service, and the ability to handle food with care, follow recipes, and work with school-age children. Flexible expectations include teamwork and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Food Handlers card is required.
• Six months of food handling service or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking foods, including panning frozen food, cupping fruit, washing and bagging fruits and vegetables, baking foods, chopping salad items, monitoring food temperatures, preparing sandwiches, and other related activities.
• Serve and replenish food supply.
• Clean cafeteria and kitchen areas, including wiping tables, sanitizing, sweeping and mopping floors, and operating dishwashers.
• Prepare the cafeteria for meals, including placing food in hot carts, rotating foods, and preparing utensils and trays.
• Monitor food inventory and perform counts of unused food after daily meal service.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
