Mount Edgecumbe High School is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare nutritious meals for students and staff on a daily basis, following approved recipes and sanitation standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a culinary degree preferred, and at least one year of cooking experience. Strong English literacy, basic MS Office skills, and a food handler certification are expected; Driver’s license is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree preferred.
• One year cooking experience in food service, cafeteria, or restaurant.
• Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read and write English; basic computer skills with MS Office.

Responsabilités

• Prepare main courses, sides, soups, salads, and baked goods per recipes and schedules.
• Follow menus and production sheets for timely meal prep.
• Safely operate ovens, stoves, grills, steamers, mixers and slicers.
• Maintain food safety and HACCP standards in storage and handling.
• Monitor temps and cook times to ensure proper doneness.
• Assist with inventory and communicate needed items to supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and organized per sanitation rules.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff for smooth operation.
• Assist with school events or catering as needed.
