Job summary

Heartspring Inc in Wichita, KS invites an experienced Cafeteria Cook to join our team. This part-time role focuses on preparing nutritious meals for students in a residential setting, while upholding safety, sanitation, and high service standards in a heat-and-serve kitchen.

You will work with the Nutrition Services Manager and kitchen staff to deliver timely, quality meals, ensuring proper portions and dietary accommodations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare, residential, or school food service.
• Certification in food safety and sanitation (KSDE) is required.
• 6 hours of CEU’s (continuing education) required.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals following KSDE standards, approved menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Ensure meals are safe, properly stored, and served on schedule with attention to quality.
• Operate in a heat-and-serve kitchen while maintaining food safety and quality.
• Maintain organized inventory and assist with food ordering and waste reduction.
• Collaborate with Nutrition Services Manager and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service.
