Job summary

Central High School in Omaha, NE is hiring a part-time cashier for the school cafeteria. The role covers cash handling and meal transactions, as well as assisting in the kitchen and dishwashing during off-peak times.

The position emphasizes excellent attendance, reliable work ethic, and customer service in a school environment. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 5.5 hours per day, August through May when students are in session.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous food service experience preferred; include cashier experience.
• Must demonstrate excellent attendance and work record.
• Practical knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with money, weights, volumes, and distances.
• Must maintain Douglas County Food Handler’s Certification.

Responsibilities

• Process cash and meal transactions with accuracy and courtesy.
• Assist with dishwashing and kitchen duties when not cashiering.
• Maintain daily records and accurate reports of meals served.
