Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals in accordance with HACCP standards and district procedures. This 8-hour-per-day role follows the school year schedule and includes duties such as cashiering and maintaining clean and sanitary facilities.

The position requires a high school graduate and offers insurance benefits along with other employee perks as part of the nutrition services team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to operate standard food service equipment and follow safety guidelines.
• Willingness to perform cashiering duties as assigned and work with HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or package food items according to procedures, portion control, and HACCP standards.
• Maintain food service facilities equipment and utensils in a clean, sanitary condition.
• Prepare entrees, fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, and desserts for distribution.
• Assist in receipt, storage, and rotation of food items and supplies; help with inventory.
• Safely operate ovens, slicers, warmers, mixers and other standard equipment.
• Maintain routine records related to assigned activities.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet building needs.
