Job summary

Blooming Grove ISD is seeking a School Bus Driver to operate daily routes and provide safe, orderly transportation for students and authorized persons. The role includes pre/post trip inspections, adherence to schedules, and supervising student behavior on and off the bus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
• Must complete required bus driver safety training.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must use maps and GPS to follow routes and locate addresses.
• Must manage student behavior.
• Must communicate effectively with others.
• Must operate the school bus.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus daily on assigned route with established schedules.
• Transport students to and from extracurricular activities.
• Adjust to traffic/weather/road changes while keeping students safe.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Report accidents or vehicle problems and complete reports.
• Instruct and supervise students boarding/exiting and crossing streets.
• Maintain discipline and inform teachers/parents of behavior.
• Conduct emergency evacuation when needed.
