Job summary

Katy ISD Transportation in Houston, TX is seeking a Manager - Driver Personnel to coordinate orientation, training and day-to-day supervision of bus drivers and attendants. You will ensure safe, on-time student transport and support district activities while maintaining compliance with TEA and DOT policies.

The role requires CDL with endorsements, a valid bus driver certification or the ability to obtain, and strong leadership and communication skills. 238 workdays annually with full-time status.

Qualifications

• Requires CDL with endorsements and school bus driver certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• TAPT supervisor certification or ability to obtain.
• Pass annual physical and drug/alcohol testing per law and policy.
• Read and interpret maps and routes; familiar with district street grid.
• Advanced management theory courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the work activities of drivers, attendants and daycare personnel.
• Assist in observation, reporting and counseling of drivers and attendants concerning safety and violations of policy and procedures.
• Prepare, evaluate and maintain the records of performance of transportation personnel.
• Resolve problems and complaints from students, citizens and employees regarding transportation personnel.
• Prepare and document routing/scheduling of drivers and attendants in a safe and cost effective manner to transport the students.
