Job summary

Nelson County Schools Bus Garage (Support Complex) in Bardstown, Kentucky seeks a Bus Monitor to assist students with loading and unloading, operate the mechanical lift, and secure wheelchairs and restraints. The role requires maintaining safety and providing basic medical support as needed.

You will work under the Director of Transportation Services and may be scheduled up to 176 days, up to 8 hours per day, or on an hourly basis. A high school diploma or GED is required by Kentucky law.

Qualifications

• Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma or GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Ability to assist with special needs students and operate bus equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist children on and off the bus and escort them across the street.
• Operate mechanical lift and ensure wheelchairs are secured.
• Render first aid when necessary and maintain safety on board.
• Assist bus driver with loading/unloading and documentation as required.
• Attend in-service trainings and uphold professional conduct.
