Job summary

Nelson County Schools Bus Garage (Support Complex) in Bardstown, Kentucky seeks a part-time Bus Driver for activity routes. You will operate a school bus, pick up and discharge students, and ensure safety on designated routes.

Requires High School diploma or GED, CDL Class B with passenger and school bus endorsements, and ability to pass driving record and CDL physical. Compensation is hourly with 175 days, 4 hours daily or hourly.

Qualifications

• Any combination equivalent to high school diploma, GED or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
• One year experience in the operation of a motor vehicle.
• Valid Kentucky Commercial Class B driver's license, including passenger endorsement; School Bus Endorsement; Air Brake Endorsement.
• Must pass a driving record check.
• Must pass CDL Physical.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus in accordance with regulations and laws related to pupil transportation in Kentucky.
• Pick up and discharge students at bus stops under varying weather conditions.
• Report incidents which affect the safety of students.
• Perform daily inspections and operator maintenance of vehicles.
• Assist in loading and unloading of special needs students as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance and vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
