Job summary

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking qualified individuals to operate school buses on routes and ensure safe transportation for students. The position requires a CDL with appropriate endorsements or a willingness to obtain them, along with successful completion of medical, drug testing, and background checks.

Field trips and athletic events may provide extra work, with a starting rate of $30.00 per hour and a split schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with Air Brakes, Passenger and School Bus endorsements or be willing to obtain a valid commercial driver's license with proper endorsements. Training will be provided.
• Must comply with all state and federal requirements pertaining to medical examinations and drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be fingerprinted and have a clear background check.
• Must have a good driving record as determined by the district.
• Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Rockaway Township roads.

We offer a competitive starting hourly rate, starting at $30.00 p/h.

Relocation Requirement

Effective September 1, 2011, all employees of school districts must reside in the State of New Jersey, unless exempted under law. If you are already working for the school district as of that date and you do not live in New Jersey, you are not required to move. However, if you begin your office, position, or employment on or after that date, you must reside in New Jersey. If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position, or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey. Failure to do so may result in removal from your office, position, or employment.
