Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Bus Driver Trainee in Phoenix, AZ. The role is a three-month classified hourly training program designed to develop knowledge, licenses, and safety competencies to transport students under supervision.

During training, you will complete required classroom sessions, behind-the-wheel practice, and licensing requirements, with emphasis on safety, discipline, and reporting. Training culminates with qualifications to operate a school bus independently.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must obtain and possess a valid CLP with applicable endorsements before training.
• Clean driving record and insurance eligibility as required by the district.
• Must meet federal/state medical and physical requirements for school bus drivers.

Responsibilities

• Learn and comply with traffic laws, ADOT requirements, and district policies while supervised.
• Complete classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to obtain licenses and certifications.
• Perform supervised pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report vehicle issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and general condition of district vehicles per procedures.
• Demonstrate safe student management and supervision techniques during transport.
