Job summary

The Roosevelt School District 66 seeks a Bus Driver Trainee to participate in a structured training program designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and qualifications to safely transport students. Training follows ADOT requirements and district policies under supervision until licensed to operate a school bus.

Three-month, classified hourly position. You must have an Arizona driver license, obtain a CLP with endorsements before starting, and provide a five-year MVR.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older at start of training.
• Must obtain and maintain required licenses and endorsements.
• Must pass district driving records and medical/physical qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Learn traffic laws, safety regs, and district procedures under supervision.
• Complete classroom and behind-the-wheel training to qualify for licenses and endorsements.
• Assist with supervised routes and transportation duties as allowed by law.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and documentation of inspections.
• Develop student management and safety practices for transporting students.
• Follow district procedures for safety training and incident reporting.
• Attend required trainings and maintain accurate records.
