Job summary

ASDB in Arizona is seeking a School Bus Driver to transport students safely on a daily schedule. The role requires operating a state vehicle, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and maintaining order and security inside the bus while greeting students each morning and seeing them safely home in the afternoon.

Candidates must meet licensing and training requirements including FBI/state background checks, Defensive Driver Training, CIT, CPR and First Aid, and a valid AZ driver’s license; willingness

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
• Be prepared to participate in the ASL classes provided by the Agency.
• Be prepared to learn a vocabulary of frequently used words to communicate in ASL with students and staff.
• Must pass FBI and State background check or Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel who drive on State Business.
• Positions working directly with students must obtain CIT, CPR, and First Aid Certification.
• Valid Arizona State Driver's License in good standing.
• Willing to participate in annual and random drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students according to time schedules Maintain logs on attendance, repairs, and/or changes to routes
• Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or other related duties
• Recognize a problem in the operation of a school bus and prepare a report
