Job summary

Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated Bus Driver for Route 8. This full-time position at the Bus Garage ensures safe and efficient transportation for passengers, with 3.25 hours per day, Monday through Friday from September through May.

The role requires a valid CDL with passenger endorsement, 2+ years driving experience, strong knowledge of traffic laws, and excellent communication skills. Background check and drug screening are required; First Aid/CPR is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience, preferably in a bus or large vehicle.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate the bus along Route 8, adhere to scheduled stops and ensure timely arrivals.
• Ensure passenger safety by following traffic laws and safety protocols at all times.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including those with disabilities or special needs.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
• Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, incidents, and maintenance issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns.
• Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to management promptly.
• Attend training sessions and safety meetings to stay updated on regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.
