Job summary

Aransas Pass ISD is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to transport students on assigned routes in Aransas Pass, Texas, following schedules and safety rules. Responsibilities include operating the school bus, performing pre/post-trip inspections, maintaining discipline, and reporting incidents.

Must hold a Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, be at least 18, pass DOT tests, and complete required safety training. Route safety comes first.

Qualifications

• Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass DOT alcohol and drug tests and annual physical.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.

Responsibilities

• Drive daily on assigned route following schedules.
• Manage student boarding, exiting and behavior.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain bus cleanliness.
• Report accidents, vehicle damage and mechanical problems.
• Operate two-way radio and GPS for routing and communication.
• Maintain records of mileage, fuel, and passengers transported.
• Observe traffic laws and ensure safety certifications.
• Install snow chains during inclement weather.
