Job summary

Education Service Center, Region 2 in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Bus Driver to ensure the safe and orderly transportation of students on the assigned route. A valid Texas CDL with P and S endorsements is required, you must be 18, pass drug and alcohol testing, complete safety training, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• Clear and valid Texas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug test.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.

• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned route and schedules.
• Drive bus to and from extracurricular activities.
• Inspect bus for defects and report maintenance needs.
• Report accidents and mechanical failures.
• Keep bus clean and fueled.
• Supervise students boarding and exiting the bus.
• Communicate with teachers and parents about student behavior.
• Maintain discipline and report issues to administration.
• Instruct students on safe riding rules and regulations.
• Observe traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Inspect bus equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Install snow chains during inclement weather.
• Report hazardous conditions along the route.
• Operate two-way radio with transportation office.
• Work irregular hours as needed.
• Attend required safety training to maintain certification.
• Keep records on mileage, fuel, and passengers.
