Job summary

Manteno CUSD No. 5 is seeking reliable and safety-focused Route Bus Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will transport students safely and efficiently while maintaining a positive and orderly environment on the bus.

This role supports student well-being, follows transportation procedures, and contributes to a safe school experience. The position is part-time with daytime hours and requires a valid CDL or willingness to obtain one with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school, activities, and events.
• Follow assigned bus routes and schedules in a timely manner.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain order and ensure appropriate student behavior on the bus.
• Assist students with boarding, seating, and exiting the bus as needed.
• Supervise students during transport and ensure appropriate behavior.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, families, and transportation personnel.
• Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
