Position Summary

Manteno CUSD No. 5 is seeking reliable and safety-focused Route Bus Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will transport students safely and efficiently while maintaining a positive and orderly environment on the bus. This role involves supporting student well‑being, following transportation procedures, and contributing to a safe school experience.

Qualifications/Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (or willingness/ability to obtain with training provided)
Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug screenings
Ability to pass a physical.
Knowledge of traffic laws and school transportation safety regulations
Ability to follow established routes and schedules
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage student behavior in a calm and professional manner
Dependability, punctuality, and strong attention to safety
Ability to work in varying weather conditions
Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students
