Job summary

Durand Area School District is seeking a dedicated School Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school, extracurricular activities, and events. The role requires CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and flexibility for early mornings and occasional evenings.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to pass background checks and drug screening. First Aid/ CPR is a plus, with a focus on safety and reliable communication with families

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger endorsement is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Flexibility for early mornings, late afternoons, and some evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from designated locations.
• Ensure passenger safety and well-being during transit.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections.
• Maintain a clean interior of the bus.
• Communicate transportation schedules and changes to students, parents, and staff.
• Enforce seat belts and safety rules for all students.
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs.
• Report incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain records of routes, counts, and incidents.
