Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Valid Colorado CDL with S endorsement required.
• Pass Colorado Department of Education School Bus Operator’s Test.
• Meet district insurability requirements.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Previous bus driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate district transportation vehicles for transporting students and authorized passengers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and district requirements.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules; cover routes when needed.
• Maintain student safety and manage student behavior per district expectations.
• Provide clear instructions to students for a safe environment.
• Perform emergency procedures, evacuations, and medical responses.
• Assist students with boarding/exiting, operate wheelchair lifts and secure equipment.
• Communicate with dispatch via two-way radio and complete logs/reports.
• Fuel, clean, and maintain assigned vehicles; use routing systems and navigation tools.
