Job summary

Colorado Springs School District 11 is seeking a Bus Assistant to supervise students during loading, transport, and unloading on district transportation routes. The role reports to the Operations Manager and supports drivers with safety procedures, seating, and daily bus checks.

The position is .75 FTE with a 173-day schedule, offering non-exempt pay under the ESP schedule. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be evaluated for CPR/First Aid certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to interact professionally with students, families, and staff

Responsibilities

• Monitor boarding and departure of students on the bus
• Ensure students are safely seated and wheelchairs are secured when required
• Perform daily pre-trip checks on wheelchair tie-down systems and seating devices
• Assist driver with maintaining bus interior cleanliness and safety reports
• Document student attendance and behavior as required
