Job summary

Alamogordo Public Schools is seeking a School Bus Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for students to and from school and activities. Positions available include full-time and part-time openings, with duties including operating school buses and communicating any issues to the Transportation Director.

Applicants must meet NM requirements including a CDL Class B with S and P endorsements, background checks, and a physical examination.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass NM Motor Vehicle Division driving record check with solid safety record.
• Must pass criminal background check per NM statute.
• Must complete NM school bus driver's physical exam.
• Must possess valid NM CDL Class B for school buses with S and P endorsements or obtain one.
• Pre-employment drug screening per 49 CFR Part 382.
• Bus driver experience desired.
• First Aid/CPR certification desired where required.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses to transport students and related activities.
• Identify and communicate mechanical/maintenance or emergency situations to Transportation Director/Coordinator.
• Ensure safe, on-time service and high ethical standards in interactions with students, staff and community.
