Job summary

Alamogordo Public Schools is seeking a School Bus Driver to operate buses for student transportation to and from school and related activities. You will ensure safety, reliability, and courteous service while adhering to policies and regulations.

The role requires a clean driving record, NM background checks, a valid CDL Class B with S and P endorsements (or ability to obtain), and compliance with drug testing and health requirements. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred where applicable.

Job Snapshot:

To provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation service by operating various school buses intransporting passengers to and from school as well as related activities accordance with applicable policies,
regulations, and statutes. To identify and communicate mechanical/maintenance and/or emergencysituations to the Transportation Director/Coordinator. Assure a safe, on-time service and customersatisfaction and maintaining the highest level of ethical behavior with our customers, fellow employees andcommunity we serve.

• Successful completion of a driving record check through the NM Motor Vehicle Division with a solid safety record
• Successful completion of a criminal background check in accordance with Section 22-10-3, NMSA, 1978 at applicant's expense
• Satisfactory completion of a NM school bus driver's physical examination
• Possess a valid New Mexico commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B for school buses, with S and P endorsements or the ability to obtain one.
• Successful pre-employment screening for drug abuse in accordance with 49 CFR Part 382 at the District's testing lab
• Possession of current First Aid/CPR certification where required by State/District/Regulations desired

Conditions of Employment:

Ability to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and, upon an offer of employment, complete an Employee's Statement of Health and submit to a functional capacity evaluation at the District's expense to determine ability to perform job-related functions and fitness for duty.
