Job summary

The role requires a valid Alabama bus driver license (ABL) and CDL with P/S endorsement, an Alabama School Bus Physical or ALDOT Health Card, and the ability to pass a drug test. Regular pre-trip and post-trip inspections, along with maintaining order and a clean bus, are essential.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a valid Alabama bus driver license (ABL) and commercial driver’s license (CDL) with P/S endorsement.
• Maintain a current Alabama School Bus Physical or ALDOT Health Card as required by state law or the Alabama State Department of Education.
• Meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under relevant Alabama acts.
• Maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record and insurability under school system requirements.
• Pass drug test according to applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system, its vision, goals, and priorities.
• Adheres to traffic laws and driving safety rules.
• Prepares and submits monthly school bus reports as required.
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and evacuation drills.
• Maintains discipline and a clean bus while transporting students on assigned routes.
