Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools seeks a dependable bus driver to transport students and staff on assigned routes, prioritizing safety, punctuality, and courteous behavior. You will report to the Transportation Supervisor and coordinators, complete required logs, perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain a clean, safe bus.

Must hold a valid Alabama CDL and school bus certificate, meet DOT physical requirements, pass drug screening, and comply with all state and district regulations

Qualifications

• Valid Alabama CDL and school bus certificate required.
• DOT physical as required by Board Policy.
• Meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Must pass drug screening.
• Ability to operate a school vehicle on a fixed schedule.
• Physical ability to perform pre-trip inspections and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication skills.
• Punctual and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus safely on assigned route.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and passenger safety.
• Adhere to traffic laws and district policies.
• Report accidents and incidents promptly.
• Assist with evacuations and field trips as needed.
