Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro in Detroit is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students within the district. You will conduct daily bus checks, pre-trip inspections, and drive routes as scheduled, ensuring student safety and on-time service.

This role requires a valid CDL with B, P, S, air brakes endorsements, a high school diploma, and a clean driving record. You will complete required training and adhere to state and district policies, with compensation

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• CDL with B, P, S and air brakes endorsements; renew before expiration.
• Annual physical exam as required by DOT and Michigan DOE.
• Successful drug test and clean driving record; completion of required school bus driver training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily bus checks, fueling, oil level and interior cleaning, including during field trips.
• Warm up buses prior to driving and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting reports online.
• Maintain order and discipline among student passengers; ensure only students and authorized supervisors are onboard.
• Use bus radios for school-related communications.
• Prepare and maintain necessary records as per legal and board policies.
• Perform emergency evacuations and demonstrate emergency procedures regularly.
• Report injuries, damages, safety hazards, and accidents promptly through written reports.
• Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled.
