Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Bus Driver to provide safe, efficient transportation for students, covering morning and afternoon routes five days a week. Additional runs may be offered weekly, with paid training provided by the BC Transportation Department.

The role emphasizes safe maneuvering of large buses and strong relations with students, staff, and community members. Education requirements include a high school diploma and Michigan driving certifications; prior bus driving experience is preferred,

Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred; required driving certifications by the State of Michigan.
  • Previous bus driving experience preferred or PAID training provided by BC Transportation Department.
  • Ability to maneuver large buses efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to relate to students, staff, and community members.

Job description

Bus Drivers

Primary Function: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.

You will be responsible for your morning route and afternoon route, five days a week. You will also be able to pick from extra runs that become available from week to week.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma preferred; required driving certifications by the State of Michigan
  • Training and Experience: Previous bus driving experience preferred or PAID training provided by BC Transportation Department
  • Demonstrated Technical Skills: Ability to maneuver large buses efficiently and safely
  • Human Relations Skills: Ability to relate to students, staff, and community members.

WAGE: Starting at $24.31/hour (may be more with experience), 10 paid sick days per year, vision insurance available, paid snow days, 2 personal days, and holiday pay
