Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED recognized by TEA.
• Must obtain class B CDL license with endorsements within 180 days (paid training).
• Safe driving record; pass DOT alcohol and drug tests.
• Must obtain and maintain School Bus Driver Certification.
• Fingerprinting background check satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate bus routes for general education, bilingual, McKinney-Vento and special needs.
• Answer questions about bus eligibility for students.
• Coordinate and distribute bus information, rosters, and schedules to campuses and online resources.
• Assist drivers, parents, and staff with routing issues.
• Ensure routes and schedules comply with district policy.
• Coordinate state-directed student counts to determine ridership.
