Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking an Transportation Dispatch Technician I to assign and dispatch buses and district vehicles, coordinate field trips, and maintain transportation records. You will communicate with drivers, supervisors, and parents, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

The role requires two years of dispatch experience or equivalent, a high school diploma, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD/dispatch software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of dispatch experience preferred.
• Experience with two-way radio dispatch and coordinating transportation operations.
• Ability to maintain accurate transportation records and use standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Assign and dispatch school buses and district vehicles.
• Coordinate field trips and route planning with drivers and supervisors.
• Monitor driver availability and maintain safety and maintenance procedures.
• Communicate critical information to drivers and staff using radio and phone systems.
• Enter and manage data in CAD/dispatch systems and generate standard reports.
