Job summary

First Student, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician in Oakdale, MN to maintain and repair school buses for safety and reliability. Work Mon-Fri with an 8-hour day shift in a shop setting with year-round hours.

The role requires 3+ years of diesel/auto maintenance or related technical schooling, a valid driver's license, and CDL B (company-paid training). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience or equivalent technical school education.
• Valid driver's license required and CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days; company training provided.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to complete work orders accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform maintenance including brakes, engines, suspensions, and drive trains.
• Complete preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual inspections; manage work orders.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
