Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Bus Assistant to support safe transportation of children on the school bus and to assist the Bus Driver with daily activities and supervision. You will help load/unload, ensure children are buckled, coordinate with staff and families, and participate in safety education and required paperwork.

This on-site role emphasizes teamwork, care, and reliable communication.

Qualifications

• No prior education or experience required for this position.
• Within 6 months from date of hire, must meet Oregon’s Early Learning Divisions requirements for a Teacher Aide II.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload children safely from the school bus with the Bus Driver.
• Ensure children are seated and buckled in appropriate restraints at all times.
• Maintain clean bus and proper vehicle capacity.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation.
• Communicate with staff and families about children's needs and activities.
• Support safety education and positive behavior on the bus.
