Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is hiring a Bus Assistant to support the Bus Driver in transporting children safely on the school bus and to assist with communication between staff and parents regarding the children’s needs and center activities.

No prior education or experience is required for this position, and pay ranges from $17.00 to $19.71 per hour depending on qualifications and Oregon regulations. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• No prior education or experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver to supervise children and ensure no child is left unsupervised.
• Load and unload children safely from the school bus following procedures.
• Ensure correct children enter/exit bus and are released to authorized person.
• Ensure all children are seated and buckled in car seats or seat belts.
• Maintain vehicle capacity requirements and keep the bus clean.
• Participate in transportation safety education for the children.
