Job summary

North-America-Central-School-Bus is seeking a Bus Aide to assist the driver in the safe operation of routes and to manage students as identified by the school.

You will learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device, assist with loading/unloading, perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and participate in safety meetings. A high school diploma is preferred and candidates must comply with safety guidelines and dress professionally.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work early mornings.

• Adhere to OSHA guidelines and applicable laws.
• Ability to learn and use routing devices or route sheets.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in the safe operation of the route and manage students as defined/identified by school.
• Learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device.
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks and wheelchair lifts.
• Assist students in loading/unloading, including wheelchair lift.
• Cooperate with school personnel, parents and students.
• Attend safety and training meetings.
• Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus as needed.
• Clean the bus interior and windows.
• Perform other required duties per contract.
