Job summary

North America Central School Bus is seeking a team member to assist drivers in the safe operation of routes and to manage students as defined by school policies. You will learn and follow route sheets, assist with pre/post-trip inspections, loading/unloading, and wheelchair lifts while maintaining professional conduct with staff and parents.

The role requires good verbal communication, the ability to work early morning hours, and adherence to safety standards per OSHA and state/federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in the safe operation of the route and manage students.
• Learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device.
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS and wheelchair lifts
• Assist students in loading and unloading, including wheelchair lift
• Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, parents and students
• Attend safety and training meetings
• Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus
• Clean the inside of the bus (sweeping, dusting, windows)
• Perform other specialized functions as required by contract
