Job summary

North-America-Central-School-Bus is seeking a Bus Attendant to assist the driver in safely operating routes and supervising students during transit.

You will learn route sheets, help with loading and unloading, participate in safety meetings, and ensure cleanliness and orderly conduct on board. This role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and the ability to work early mornings, with a professional demeanor and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication and clarity when interacting with students, parents and staff.
• Must be able to work early morning hours.
• Maintain a professional, respectful attitude toward colleagues and customers.
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Ability to learn route sheets and routing devices.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device.
• Manage students and communicate behavior concerns to the driver.
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks and wheelchair lifts.
• Assist students in loading and unloading, including wheelchair lift.
• Cooperate with school personnel, parents and students.
• Attend safety and training meetings.
• Conduct emergency evacuations when required.
• Clean the interior of the bus (sweeping, dusting, windows).
• Perform other duties as required by contract.
