Job summary

ReGeneration is seeking an experienced full-time Behavioral Specialist to join our Chicago-area schools. You will collaborate with school staff to foster a learner-centered, safe environment and promote positive social behavior.

The role focuses on de-escalating misconduct, directing students back to learning, and supporting entry and dismissal procedures. A high school diploma and 1–2 years of school experience, plus a background check, are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of school experience.
• Willing to work long hours.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing a positive, orderly learning environment.
• Great verbal communication skills, time management, and organization, plus exceptional customer service.
• Exercise good judgment when responding to safety and security violations and emergencies.
• Interact with students with dignity and respect at all times.
• Develop positive rapport with staff and students to foster a professional learning community.
• Create and follow protocols for safe entry, dismissal, and movement of students.
• Monitor student behavior to inform decisions and communicate effectively.
• Prevent trespassing, vandalism, loitering, or other unsafe/disorderly acts.
• Participate in professional development for ongoing growth.
• Other duties as assigned.
