Job summary

CommWell Health in North Carolina is seeking a Behavioral Health School Counselor/Therapist for Roseboro-Salemburg Middle and Lakewood High School Attendance Zone. You will provide behavioral health services to students referred for support within the school setting and conduct screenings, assessments, and treatment planning.

Collaborate with teachers, families, and other staff to develop individualized interventions, respond to crises, and connect students with community and clinical resources.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, school counseling, social work, or related field.
• Active NC license in the related discipline (LCMHC, LCMHC-A, LCSW, LCSW-A).
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification from recognized organizations OR BLS with First Aid certification.
• NCI+ Preventive Certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health services to students in the school setting.
• Conduct behavioral health screenings, clinical assessments, mental health diagnoses, crisis assessments, and individualized treatment planning.
• Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and behavioral interventions designed to address students’ emotional, behavioral, developmental, and academic needs.
• Respond to students experiencing behavioral health crises, including suicide risk assessments and coordinating follow-up care.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school counselors, families, and other members of the student support team to develop and implement individualized interventions.
• Consult with and support school staff regarding behavior management, classroom strategies, prevention and intervention techniques, and school-wide behavioral supports.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of FBAs, BIPs, and other student support plans.
• Connect students and families with appropriate behavioral health, psychiatric, community, and enhanced services when needed.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation and student records while protecting confidentiality.
• Build positive relationships within assigned schools by participating in meetings and providing education and resources.
