Job summary

KIPP Capital Region is seeking a Behavior Interventionist Elementary to lead behavioral support for students in Albany and Troy, NY. The role partners with teachers and school leaders to promote safe, structured, and achievement-focused learning environments.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree preference, at least 1 year in a youth-facing classroom setting, and a commitment to equity and anti-racism in education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Minimum of 1 year of successful experience as an assistant/aide in a classroom setting or equivalent dealing with youth

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, provides, and supervises behavioral activities for students.
• Provide critical guidance to Teachers to ensure staff meet students’ needs, especially those with special needs.
• Responsible for managing and reducing risk within the classroom with the Lead teacher's support.
• Work closely with the Dean of Scholars/Students to establish a positive, structured school culture.
• Assist in partnership with the Director of Student Support Services to ensure students with IEPs/504s have support.
• Support implementation of positive school investment systems with rewards and consequences.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

High School Diploma/GED required
