Job summary

Watertown Public Schools in Watertown, MA, is seeking a BCBA/Behavior Specialist (SY26-27) to support students with behavioral and learning challenges. The role involves consultation with substantially separate education teachers and staff, developing and monitoring Behavioral Intervention Plans, and guiding de-escalation strategies to promote classroom success.

The position is full-time in the Special Education department, reporting to the Director of Student Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• DESE License in Special Education or related field or BCBA certification required.
• Experience supporting students with behavioral challenges in a public school setting.
• Ability to work with students to prevent and de-escalate behaviors and re-integrate them.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and consult with substantially separate special education teachers.
• Provide training and modeling for faculty and staff.
• Write and monitor Behavioral Intervention Plans.
• Provide consultative support to students in and outside of the classroom.
• Support Social Pragmatics goals and self-regulation.
• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) as needed.
• Interface with outside agencies to support students and families.
• Support families with children showing challenging behaviors in school and at home.
