Job summary

ReDiscover’s Children's Community Service Program in Missouri is seeking a School Based Therapist to join a mission-driven team. You will provide biopsychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver services in homes, schools or the community, with flexible scheduling to meet client needs.

The role requires a Master’s or Doctorate in a social science field and licensure candidates; two years of direct work with children/adolescents is preferred.

Our staff have smaller caseloads, are able to see clients one or more times a week, and have flexible schedules. This helps to ensure that a child's services are not disrupted due to transportation or family scheduling concerns.What You'll DoProvide biopsychosocial assessment and case management services as appropriate for children and youth who are ReDiscover clients.Assess children and families accurately and completely using all the diagnostic tools required.Develop treatment plans that match the needs of the child/family/community and works toward meeting goals of the treatment plan.Follows through with all tasks and interventions that are identified by all parties involvedIntegrates service provision to all parties to address the needs of the client.Demonstrates clinically sound judgment and seeks appropriate supervision and/or training for difficult or hard to serve clientsMaintains clear concise communication that is timely and accurate with all parties to the service provision.Meets with clients/families within the timeframes established by the program.Requirements of the PositionAvailability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients enrolled in the program.Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).At the minimum, candidates with advanced Missouri licensure such as Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW); candidates with a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is preferred.The ability to work with all persons with multiple challenges (mental illness, substance abuse, physical challenges, developmental disabilities, etc.).A valid automobile operator’s license, vehicle and state minimum require automobile coverage is required.At least two (2) years clinical experience in a direct service provision to children and adolescents in a mental health setting preferred.Knowledge of the community resources as well as health and social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing working relationships with community partners preferred.Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.Grow With UsWe’re committed to your professional development and will support your growth as a School Based Therapist through training, collaboration, and meaningful work.Ready to join a team that’s passionate about people?
