Job summary

Preferred Family Healthcare seeks a School-Based Therapist to provide trauma-informed counseling in local schools, fostering emotional, social, and academic growth for students. You will work with families and staff to design goal-driven care plans and deliver on-site services during school hours.

Ideal candidates hold PLPC, LMSW, LPC, or LCSW licensure or are pursuing licensure, with opportunities for supervision and ongoing clinical training.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed care and trauma-sensitive practices.
• Counseling students with emotional, social, and academic needs.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and families.
• Experience or interest in individual therapy and supporting diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling to students during school hours.
• Maintain a manageable caseload aligned with supervision.
• Deliver prevention, intervention, and supportive services to reduce barriers to learning.
• Participate in treatment planning and staffing meetings with goal-driven care plans.
• Respond to emotional or behavioral crises with timely, compassionate support.
• Ensure continuity of care with follow-up services and referrals.
• Collaborate with school counselors and community partners to connect families with resources.
