Job summary

Family Service & Children’s Aid is hiring School Based Therapists for Western Elementary to provide individual and group therapy to students, collaborate with teachers and families, and support Positive Behavioral Interventions in the school.

This role emphasizes trauma-informed care, requires a Master’s in Social Work and state licensure, offers generous paid time off, bonus opportunities, and in-house training while handling billing and insurance logistics through FSCA.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related profession, with State of Michigan licensure.
• Experience as therapist working with children, teens, and/or adults; trauma and mental health preferred.
• Training in DBT, TF-CBT, Bounce Back, and/or CBITS or willing to obtain training (agency covers costs).
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health services that help youth in a local elementary school to improve their overall well-being.
• Provide individual and group therapy and work with parents to assist their student’s mental health.
• Engage in activities within the school geared toward positive mental health and wellness; provide professional development for staff.
• Collaborate with Principals, Social Workers, Behavioral Interventionist, and paraprofessionals while receiving clinical support from FSCA.
• Support established State Funded program with access to State Sponsored Conferences with other school-based professionals.
