As a School Based Therapist at Family Service & Children’s Aid, you will provide behavioral health services that help youth in a local elementary school to improve their overall well-being. Provide individual and group therapy. Work with parents to assist their student in improving their mental health. Engage in activities within the school that are geared towards positive mental health and wellness. Provide professional development opportunities for the school staff. Provide interventions that align with the multitier system and support Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports in the school. Work as a team with other school staff such as Principals, Social Workers, Behavioral Interventionist, and paraprofessionals but still also have the clinical support form FSCA (Best of Both Worlds!). You would be helping to maintain an established State Funded program in Western Elementary, which means access to State Sponsored Conferences with other school-based professionals.
