Job summary

A.E.R.O Special Education Cooperative in Burbank, IL seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide therapeutic speech and language services under IEPs, collaborating with classroom teams to create integrated therapy programs.

The role includes screenings, language and oral-motor assessments, participation in team meetings and conferences, and delivering individual, group, pull-out, and integrated services using a variety of methods.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Communication Disorders.
• Illinois Professional Educator License with Endorsement in Speech and Language Disorders.

Duties

• Provide therapeutic speech and language services to students as required through the

Qualifications

• Hold a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders
• Hold a registered, valid Illinois Professional Educator License, with Endorsement in Speech and
  Language Disorders.

A.E.R.O is a Special Education Cooperative comprised of 11-member school districts, located in Burbank, IL, approximately 15 miles from the heart of Chicago. We aim to provide comprehensive special education programs and related services to students Pre K- age 22 with disabilities, who are residents of our member districts.

Our new therapeutic center offers a collaborative environment for Special Education Teachers to work with IEP teams and fellow SPED Teachers in the same grade band and program. AERO supports teachers to engage in whole classroom activities, 1:1 sessions, and small group activities in the classroom and around the school building. The center's design includes breakout spaces for more personalized learning. Teachers are provided computers and technology for teaching and report/documentation completion. AERO also provides assessment tools, curriculum materials, other subscriptions, communication supports, and related service supports from case load social workers, speech/language pathologists, OT/PT, nurses, and BCBAs or Behavior Intervention Specialists.

Our new therapeutic center offers a collaborative environment for SLPs to work with IEP teams and fellow Speech & Language Pathologists. AERO supports students from EC to age 22, allowing SLPs to engage in classroom activities, 1:1 sessions, and small group work. The center's design includes breakout spaces for more personalized learning. SLPs have dedicated workspaces for reports and materials, AERO provided assessment tools, curriculum materials, PECS subscriptions, communication supports, and assistive technology consultation.
